Trade with Asia

 

On display in the Eliza Pumpelly Mauran Blackwell Gallery is the museum’s collection of Chinese objects made for the export markets of Europe and America.  These include porcelain punch bowls, plates and a tankard, a bamboo chair, and paintings of Canton and other scenes along the Pearl River.

 

One case contains items associated with tea, such as a silver tea set and tea caddy, a lacquer tea caddy, and porcelain teapots, cups and saucers.
