Job description for Event Lead
Department: Collections & Public Engagement
Reporting to: Marketing and Communications Officer
Salary: £14.70/hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week including evening and weekend work
Holiday: 25 days holiday plus 8 days public holidays pro-rata
Term: Temporary contract from Sept to early November roughly 6-8 weeks depending on start date

About the role
The Halloween Event Lead, reporting to Marketing and Communications Officer, is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Halloween Event for the American Museum & Gardens ensuring outstanding visitor experience and a well-delivered event operationally. The role will require evening and weekend working during the event itself which runs from 16th October to 1 November 2026 included.

Job description for Casual Visitor Experience Assistant (0 hours)
Department: Collections and Public Engagement Reporting to: Visitor Experience Duty Manager Salary: £12.71 plus £1.54 annual leave allowance per hour
Hours: 0 hours (as required) Primarily working evening shifts 17:00 – 21:00 to cover out of hours events, Monday-Sunday (October - November). Hours will include regular weekend, plus Mondays during school summer holidays. You will also be required to attend training days, dates and times TBC.
Holiday: Paid as part of hourly rate
About the role
This role will involve working during our Halloween event programming - Enchanted Nights of Lights and Frights - here at The American Museum. Responsibilities will include setting up and closing down the event, greeting visitors, scanning and selling tickets, guiding people through our garden trail and working in our Gallery Shop.
