Inspired by the collection: Lewis & Wood’s Patchwork

We’re pleased to share that Lewis & Wood have launched a new collection, Patchwork, following a visit to the American Museum & Gardens.

During their time here, the design team spent time in our period rooms and with our quilts and textile collection, exploring the patterns, motifs and making traditions behind them. Patchwork has a long transatlantic history, and many of the designs in the collection reflect that shared story.

Several pieces in the Patchwork range draw directly on quilts in our care, reworking historic designs into fabrics and wallpapers for contemporary interiors. It’s a thoughtful interpretation that keeps the spirit of the originals while giving them a new context.

We were glad to support the project by providing access to the collection, and it’s always rewarding to see the ways in which these objects continue to inspire new ideas and creativity today.
