Beyond Infinity: American Space Exploration

Visitors could discover the wonders of space at the fantastic family exhibition Beyond Infinity: American Space Exploration at the American Museum & Gardens. This special exhibition showcased innovation, collaboration, and the sublime magic of space that ignites awe in all of us!

University of Bath alumna, NASA astronaut and Commander of the Crew-10 mission currently orbiting the Earth, Anne McClain, was the star of the show. Visitors could watch Anne’s special video, filmed on the International Space Station, and check out real collections from her space travels.

Kids loved the giant moon installation, amazing rocket and spacecraft models, games, facts, out-of-this-world stories and hours of interactive play.

Exhibition highlights 

• An immersive space experience with fun STEM and creative activities for the whole family 

• NASA astronaut and University of Bath alumna, Anne McClain, who is currently in space, has sent us a special message from the International Space Station and exciting items from her space travels, including her flight suit and space pyjamas

• The chance to get up close to a giant moon installation and touch real lunar rock  

• NASA’s space history and future, with inspiring technology and science, and some of the innovators, designers and astronauts involved 

• Space zone with a range of play, including astronaut games, dressing up, dynamic build kits, create-your-own solar system and more 

All ages loved the journey of the exhibition’s zones, which were all inspired by NASA’s vision and mission – 

NASA Vision: Exploring secrets of the universe for the benefit of all  

NASA Mission: NASA explores the unknown in air and space, innovates for the benefit of humanity, and inspires the world through discovery.  

This exhibition continued the Museum’s exciting Year of Exploration, which included special exhibitions and events, including pop-up planetariums, stargazing and seasonal family trails.

Admission to this special exhibition was included in general admission tickets for the American Museum & Gardens, which gives entry to the museum, exhibition, gardens, American Garden Deli and gallery shop.
