Autumn Gardens
Now – 30 November | 10am–5pm
With sweeping views over Limpley Stoke Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the garden glows with ochre tones in October, reflecting the borrowed landscape of surrounding ancient woodland. Still humming with colour, Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii ‘Goldstrum’ contrasts well with burgundy Hylotelephium ‘Herbsfreude’ and dancing Calamagrostis ‘Karl Foerster’ seedheads. Crimson-stemmed Cornus alba ‘Siberica’ and Salix alba var. vitellina ‘Britzensis’ frame the edges, hinting at winter’s palette, while billowing swathes of Hakonechloa macra and Amsonia hubrichtii juxtapose the architectural seedheads of Allium ‘Summer Drummer,’ adding sculptural rhythm as the garden transitions towards winter.
