Home Education Learning Session – Home Comforts

29 November | 10am – 5pm

Join us for a new home learning day, ideal for ages 7 years – 15 years, which is all about the home comforts of Native American peoples and European-American travellers.

Enjoy the following activities during this close-up session – 

  • Handle objects from Native American cultures and from European settlers

  • Learn about different ideas and lifestyles across this vast continent

  • Examine how people kept themselves comfortable, survived and thrived in different landscapes

  • Understand about the many changes to lives over 400 years

  • Talk to our knowledgeable staff 

  • Collect information to support your own learning

  • Visit the museum at your own pace


Things you need to know

  • This home learning day is ideal for ages 7 years – 15 years

  • Our site is open from 10am–5pm, with last entry into the Main Museum at 3pm and Exhibition Gallery at 4.30pm.

  • The object handling session will take place in our Coach House with members of our learning team and will be available between 10.30am–12.30pm, for you to drop in. Your object handling ticket also gives you access to our full site, which you are welcome to explore on your own.

  • On the day, bring your pre-booked ticket to the ticket office to receive your learning pack. Each adult ticket must be accompanied by a child ticket.
