May Half Term – Play, Relax, Enjoy
23 May – 31 May | 10am–5pm
Make the most of May half term with a family day out filled with space to play, places to unwind, and plenty to enjoy together. Wander through gardens bursting with new blooms, take in the beautiful valley views, and let little ones enjoy our much-loved children’s play area.
From Monday to Friday, join us for Craft & Build, with creative activities in the Coach House. Get stuck into hands-on crafts, enjoy big play building sessions in the Maple Room with a wide range of building blocks for all ages, from larger bricks for little hands to smaller construction bricks for more detailed creations, or take things a little slower with relaxed, quiet crafting in the Mulberry Room.
Whether you’re making, building, or simply spending time together, there’s something for everyone:
Join Charlie Chipmunk bringing history to life on our free America 250 interactive family trail
Our colourful Kith & Kin: The Quilts of Gee’s Bend exhibition, with fuzzy felt activities
Woodland walk adventures
Climb-and-slide fun in the Children’s Garden
Don’t forget to treat yourselves to something tasty at the American Garden Deli, or bring a picnic and make a day of it in the fresh air.
25 May: Pay-what-you-can day
Join us on Bank Holiday Monday (25 May) for a special pay-what-you-can day.
This event day is a fundraiser for the American Museum & Gardens to support our work as a charity with no government funding. On the day of the event, you will be able to donate to enter the site on a pay-what-you-feel basis, based on what you feel it is worth. We ask that you give generously, but if you can’t afford to that’s fine too. More details can be found here.
