Spectacular weekend of live music hosted by Clare Teal

This July, on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we will have a special weekend of live music celebrating the rich and far-reaching story of American song.

Hosted by award-winning singer and broadcaster Clare Teal, this three-night event explores the evolution of jazz and popular music, genres rooted in America but shaped by global influences from Africa, Europe and beyond. Each evening offers a distinct musical focus, taking audiences on a journey through some of the most influential sounds of the past century.

NEW ORLEANS - RAGTIME, JAZZ AND BLUES
The weekend opens on Friday 3 July in New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz, with a vibrant celebration of ragtime, blues and early jazz. Clare is joined by internationally acclaimed clarinettist Adrian Cox for an evening inspired by the energy and spirit of the Crescent City.

TIN PAN ALLEY - AND THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
On Saturday 4 July, the focus shifts to New York and the golden age of Tin Pan Alley. Clare and special guests bring the Great American Songbook to life, sharing timeless songs alongside the stories of the composers who defined American popular music.

BROADWAY - AND ALL THAT JAZZ
The weekend concludes on Sunday 5 July with a dazzling tribute to Broadway. Joined by West End performers Emma Kershaw and Katie Birtill, Clare presents an evening of musical theatre favourites, celebrating over a century of song from both sides of the Atlantic.

Whether you join us for one evening or all three, this promises to be a memorable celebration of music, history and culture. For those who want to enjoy the complete journey, a special Weekender ticket is available, offering access to all three performances.

Further details about all 3 evenings can be found on our What’s On page.
