New grant award to further grow inclusivity

Thanks to National Lottery Heritage funding and Arts Council England funding, museums like the American Museum & Gardens that took part in the Travelling Together programme with Museum Development South West have applied for and received further funding to maintain the momentum with their work to involve a wider range of people in their museums.

The American Museum & Gardens are undertaking more training for Front of House teams in supporting visitors with Special Needs, as one strand of work. Alongside this they have been reviewing the impact of previous funding, including updating displays in the Museum.

Grant proposals were carefully reviewed by the MDSW Growing Together Steering Group and grants were released in July. Work is getting underway now, with more information to follow soon.
