Spring Talk - American Folk Art: Stories from our collection

Join us to find out more about our fascinating Folk Art Collection. What defines Folk Art, and why is it so widely collected? In this talk we’ll explore the traditions behind it and uncover some of our most treasured pieces in our collection.
Our speaker, Nick Russell, is an academic and historian, with a particular interest in American art. His enthusiasm and passion for the subject is infectious and will bring the collection to life.
Following the talk, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the collection for yourself as access to the Museum and Folk Art Gallery is included in your admission ticket.

If you are a member, please log in with your member ID or email on the ticket page. Please note, if you are not a member, you will need to purchase an admission ticket to the American Museum & Gardens as well as a free event ticket.

Things you need to know
The event starts at 11.30am and is due to end by 12.30pm.
We are pleased to offer free parking. If the main car park is full, please follow our signs to the additional parking, just a short distance up Claverton Hill from the main car park.
On arrival, please check in with the Ticket Office team who will give you more information about your visit. Please arrive at least 10 minutes ahead of the start time to check in.
If you are not a member, please purchase an admission ticket, which includes the gardens, museum, exhibition, deli café and shop, in addition to your event ticket.
Please be aware that we are unable to provide a refund unless we close the American Museum & Gardens due to unforeseen circumstances or cancel the event ourselves.
